Closed Circuit Cameras
To examine the condition of the existing sanitary sewer lines in the system, the SARP10 team is using Closed Circuit Television (CCTV). These cameras are mounted on tracks that crawl through the sewer pipes to give 360-degree video of each segment to document defects or significant debris or grease buildup in the line. The video logs, along with summaries of the defects for each line, are then analyzed to determine maintenance and rehabilitation priorities. Lines with significant debris, roots, grease, or other maintenance issues are addressed by preventative maintenance either by the city or a city-appointed contractor. Segments with structural issues are prioritized by severity, and the most severe lines will be addressed by SARP10 during the rehabilitation phase of work.
